    Makino a51 Post

Does anyone have a post for a Makino a51?

I am having a lot of trouble rotating the pallet, and the pallet deciding on its own which way to go.

I know your post was a long time ago but if you have any questions I work with 3 makino a51's everyday. i would be interesting in sharing any information i can help with along with any situations you have encountered with your machine(s)

    thanks

your problem could involve you needing to unlock and lock the pallet rotation by inputing a M10 OR M11.

have you had any "hardware fault alarms" or "false trigger alarms" (i also have the laser tool measure)

    Pallet direction

    Hello
We are having a problem getting the pallet to rotate CCW
(For a clearence issue) with our A51
    We tried M15 B90. etc.
    But it doesnt work?

    Are we doing something wrong?
    Thank you for any help.

The pallet will always want to true which ever way is the shortest distance. There should be a way to override that. I have a programmer for the a51 that I can ask what input he has for you. He will be available tomorrow. For now maybe try incremental moves to force a shortest distance until we obtain the code to override that default

    b-axis rotation

I had the opposite problem with my A51, but mine was due to an idiot slamming it. mine would never take the shortest rout, always moved in the clockwise direction. had service out to replace the spindle recently and they fixed the problem for me, but I was shown that there are a series of parameters you can find in your fanuc book that allows shortest position move or dis-allows it. what about moving the z axis forward for clearance. my machine indexes at any z position. is yours an indexer or a full 4th axis?
