The time has come the woodworker said to speak of many things. 0f routers and Wood , chips and paints and stains and CNC and other things.
You don't see too many that don't attach directly to the spindle or router if that is what you mean. I don't remember the site, but there are a couple of versions that mount to the Z axis base (where it mounts to the gantry) with 2 rods, and you can set the boot height with thump screws. A little searching on the web or you tube should locate them. On those of this design I have seen, the spindle goes up and down within the boot. These designs may work with a very good vacuum system, but the more "gaps" that allow air to flow from other than directly under the spindle the less efficient the vacuum is.
I designed one and installed it just before going away for the winter. In a few tests it worked very well, but I have in mind some changes which I will do when I get home in a month or so. When I am happy with it, I'll post the drawings. Mine uses a pair of brackets that mount to the sides of the Z axis plate. I use a large dust collection system and the boot has a short brush on it. My machine is a 24x48 pro but has not been upgraded to the new style risers or linear motion. I don't know if the Z axis is the same as yours.
Jason Beam uses the type of boot you are looking for - check his Youtube channel.
KjK2002 I tried to find a video showing Jason's boot and could not . He has a lot of videos.
I did not see any one else using a static boot. I know there are people using because I have seen them.

Nice shoe and testing videos. Thanks for sharing,
I would like to incorporate this floating shoe design https://youtu.be/T1K1gFbxv2M
with the Jason Beam design.
I am going to start working on this. If you design something I will be watching.

How do you hold material down when using a dust shoe like this? Vacuum table?
He is using screws. I use screws and double sided tape to hold things.
Sometimes I use clamps. It depends on what I am doing.
