    Info Wtd on serial EEprom

Anyone have any experience with serial eproms the likes of X25C02 & X25040?
My programmer does not list the X25C02, only the X25040.
They appear identical in just about every way except the first is 256X8 and the second is 512x8 (2k & 4k).
My question is, if I plug in a programmed ,40 into a system to replace an ,02, is there any forseeable problems, when it comes to reading?

    Al,

It really depends on how the system software is accessing the eprom.

When you program the chip, duplicate the data from addresses 0 thru 255
    to addresses 256 thru 511

This will prevent any problems from address counter rollovers or an improperly set high address bit.

If the system is only reading and not writing to the chip, you should be OK.

Thanks, I will try that, it is only reading in the system.
