    FADAL CNC88HS - Windows 7

We have a VMC15XT Fadal with CNC88HS. The tasks of mechanization send them with a program compiled in Basic from a Windows 98 Serial RS232 cable. We need to work with windows 7 to connect with RS232 cable. We have proven to compile the program on Windows 7 but can not communicate with the CNC.

    I appreciate the collaboration.

    Re: FADAL CNC88HS - Windows 7

I use Windows 7 to send and dripfeed to a Fadal with 88hs control.
I use a software called Dostek for all machines in the factory and it works great.
The fadal has its own RS232 port. Some older machines dont so for them I use Dostek's BTR boards.
I feed the Fadal from a modern laptop and a cheap USB to 9 pin serial adapter.
The only quirk is that the adapter prevents re-sending a program after one has been sent so after sending a program I need to unplug and reconnect the USB adapter and it works again.
I think a higher quality adapter would not require that.

    Hi Andy Fritz,
    * Thank you for responding so fast, I tested the software Dostek directly with the RS232 connection, send me the file but not everything stays half. We have proven with several different files and stop the machine stays at some point.

    * Not if it happened to you this with Fadal models.

    Thank you

Do you mean that when you upload a program to the Fadal, it stops halfway through?
In that case I would suspect you are either using a too long RS232 cable or sending at a too high baud rate.
If you cant even start sending the program something else is wrong.
Are you using the same computer as the one you were successfully using with Windows 98?
If not, try using another computer.
Are you sure the cable is good?

I tried to attach my Fadal configuration file for Dostek but it says "Invalid file".
If you give me your email in PM I can send it too you.

    Cheers,

The program sends the package and gives no mistake, now is working on a Windows 98 with a program called CASIO compiled in Basic. With Windows 98 works correctly. With the same parameters we have managed to run the program in Windos 7, but does not send the package. I'm provando other programs to send but I get this error, just send half the file.
    * The cable is correct because it works well with Windows 98.

    Thank you very much

I have a fall 4020 that I used to drip Feed from a Windows 7 desktop with a program called Fadal Assist. Then I got a Calmotion data server for $500.00 and now I drop Feed from that at 19000 baud... I've still got the fadal assist program if you want me to send you a copy...
