hello all,

I would like to build a single axis linear positioning table for my radial arm saw to cut slots for frets in a guitar fretboard.

a few of the item i have already are:

2 Nema 23 DC servo motors (brushes)

2 US digital E4P encoders,1000 ppr resolution I think

3 gecko 320 drivers

a boston gear DC motor controller, 0-90 VDC @ 5A i think I could use as a power supply for the motors

a sitop 24VDC power supply @ 20A

Rollon bearings and rails

lots of 80/20 type aluminum profile (bossch/rexroth 45x45mm)

I'm sure i'd have no issues building the stage and use 1/2" acme rod for the screw.

but what would/could I use to controll the 320's?

I've only used a G540 before in other projects, and to me its a black box I pluged parts in to.

Just kind of brain storming here.

Thanks in advance
Ray

*edit* I've played around with steppers plenty and want to get some servo experience in
