    What kind of screw is this?

    Im working on a large CNC router, well im piping the electrical feed to it. Im curious as to what kind of screw this is. This machine is a woodworking router and its brandy new! Are there advantages over this type of screw over any other? Here are the pics, sorry for the crappy quality there off of my phone.

    These are basic high pitch lead ball screws. Nice for moving things fast, but not so nice for precision or transmitting a lot of motor torque. Some of that can be taken care of in the drive system and resolution. Looks to be about 1"/revolution. This may have a reduction system either in belt or gearbox to keep servo/stepper motor HP and resolution to something reasonable.

    Its an austrian machine but as far as the manufacturer im not positive. All I remember is that there was a big seimens sticker on the control cabinet, but they wernt the manufacturer.

    Yea the machine is basically the same, diffrent color scheme and there isnt a conveyor underneeth like that one. Other than that its identical
