I'm confused trying to save a file.

I have X9 and when I try to save a drawing as a DXF (Autocad) file, it shows up as a 3D Builder file.

When I try to open the 3D Builder file, I get a message that I don't have a 3D object defined with a triangle mesh and I can't open the file. I don't even want to open the file.

I want a DXF file that I can email to a friend to make the part I have drawn in X9.

Like the Led Zeppelin song, I'm dazed and confused.... and need help.

    Thanks,

    Doug

What do you mean by "3D Builder file" ? ...... Google tells me it is a 3D printing application
    - that extension is probably ( mistakenly ) associated to incorrect software

---- try using R-click on the file and use the "Open With" option ( select "Mastercam X9" as default ) to re-open the DXF to check the file's content integrity
