Hi all-
I have an Amada NC IronWorker that I am having problems with the NC locator. If I jog the NC locator in manual, and press the jog button, let the locator move 1/2 to 1 inch, then release the button. The locator moves. If I try to go any farther, it jumps non stop forward, reverse, forward, reverse about 1-3 inches each way until I press the estop.
I have tried to contact Amada, but they are no help. For some reason this machine is not allowed in the US, and I have one. They are not happy. Long story.
Anyway.
I am thinking it is either the servo amp, or the encoder. I don't have a way to test either. I have slowed the travel speed down using the parameters in the controller, and that helped some, but it is getting worse. It is almost unusable now.
About a year, year and a half ago, I had to replace several capacitors on the controller board.
There are several adjusting pots on the amp. They are NF---I-ADJ---GAIN---OS--- and DZ.
the encoder is a SUMTAK LDA-146-500.
any one have any ideas?
Thanks
Steve
