G0704 phase one 3d printed mounts

I've been working towards a Hoss plans phase one conversion. Because I haven't been able to find pictures anywhere of the phase one build with the 3d printed mounts, I thought I would share a few here.

I still plan on taking it to the next level and buying ballscrews (likely the Automation Technologies Hoss ballscrews), but wanted to see it move first.

Good luck on the build. IIRC Hoss did show his mill running some printed mounts.

Thanks, I'll look a bit more and see if I can find them!

Another pic showing the motor mount holes drilled and tapped before assembly.

Where can I find the STL files for these mounts?

    They come with Hoss's plans:

Those came out great! What 3d printer did you use to make them?

G0704 phase one 3d printed mounts

They were printed for me by a friend with a Lulzbot TAZ. I don't own a printer, though increasingly I want one...

    And thanks!

Did you finish getting these mounts installed? I started on the x-axis today but the mount seems to be too tall/long and the couplers don't reach each other. I bought all the hardware listed in the hoss info but obviously some of it doesn't apply if you're using the printed mounts.

It should be easy enough to shorten the mount or modify the STL to be the correct length.

I *may* be able to get them to reach but there won't be much of the motor shaft or the leadscrew threads in each end of the coupler. I will probably end up trimming 1/4" off the motor end of the mount.

I ended up trimming just a bit off the end of the mount like I mentioned and I got a much better connection on the coupler now. This just might work! I also got some 10-24 screws and nuts to attach the motor to the mount. It feels pretty solid.
