    Pallet Rotation on a PFH-4800?

    Hi All,

I have recently purchased a new Mazak PFH-4800 horizontal machining center with a 640 control. It has an pallet indexer not a full fourth axis. I was wondering if there is an M-code or a perameter to make the pallet rotate both clockwise and counter-clockwise(or move in the direction of the shortest distance) I am running a production job that is high volume and need to cut out all the time that I can. Thanks in advance for your help.

Is this is for Eia? or Mazatrol? M42 is reverse rotation for a Index command that you use in Eia.

Usually in Mazatrol, there is 3 options in the index sequence CW,CCW or Near(Auto).

Dont forget that you can also index the pallet while you toolchange.

This posting was a good find. My employer has a Mazak 5800 horizontal machining center, 1 degree indexing. Most of the programming has been done in Mazatrol. More recently we have needed EIA programs. M42 is non modal and is good for 1 block or B-axis rotation.

Going from B0 to B270 goes the long way, CW direction
B0 to M42B270 reverese the direction and goes the short way, CCW direction.

    Thanks
