I have an LNC 8 with OSP 5020l control. We are making a lot of good parts programming with the IGF function. I guess these are can cycles. However, I can't figure out threading in IGF. Does anyone know how to do this?

he means using IGF to program it.
but yeah, better and faster to just manually insert a G71 with the correct numbers.
the old IGF on OSP5000 was a dog. sorry that's an insult to dogs, I retract that statement.
dogs are good, IGF is just bad.
So what's the issue? On OD thread X and Z are target bottom and left points. D value is depth of cut per pass H is thread height. Enter F1 and J16 for 16 threads per inch. U value is finish pass stock.
What else do you need? It will spit out good thread code as a canned cycle.
Best regards,
maybe the problem is the manual is lacking info so he's not sure what to do? I've checked my OSP5000L IGF manual and it doesn't even give an example using a thread. the manual is pretty useless. in fact it sucks dogs balls. ah no sorry again, that's an insult to dogs balls, I retract that statement.
anyway, a bit more detail from the OP about the specific problem he's having might help us to solve it.
update. here's a page from an IGF manual (not sure what version or OSP series this would be on)
the example shows how to 'draw' the part and it includes a thread.
Thanks guys. I apologize for not thanking you sooner. I'm about to try the threading this weekend. I'm grateful to you for taking the time to help.
Thanks OkumaWiz! Threads are cutting like a champ! It's all in the name I guess.
