NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT use antifreeze in the system. That is if you want to have the system work correctly. Most importantly is the fact that antifreeze does not have the same characteristics as DowFrost. Therefore the temperature sensing will NOT be correct. Secondly , the seals are not designed to seal against antifreeze. Third, if your machine is under warrenty and you use antifreeze, there is no longer any warrenty!

It depends what year machine it is.
1980's called out auto anti freeze.(No refrigerator on these machines)
In the 90's it was Dow Therm 4000.
Now it is Dow Frost.
I use Dow Frost in all machines, it is available from my oil distributor.
dow frost is a special heat transfer fluid, fadal calls it out for a reason. do you put 10w-30 in the way lube?
at one point in time they used spindle oil in spindle cooling system, I've got 2 machines with that setup.
sorry to hijack this thread but Neal, on a trm do you use anthing to cool the spindle besides the air?
thanks
