Hey folks,
I have a bore that I need to use cutter comp on. It's been roughed out and I need to finish to .450, and I'm using a 1/4" endmill with probably too much stickout for my own good, but that's beyond the point. Part of the problem, I believe, is that I'm trying to finish a bore less than 2*D.
My problem is with engaging cutter comp with this helix bore toolpath. I have compensation set to wear, start at center ON, and perpendicular entry ON, as suggested here:
Attachment 276998
However, whenever I run the code on our EC400 it errors out with Haas error 369: Tool too big to enter cut.
Is my only option to hand code this part in? Maybe a contour-ramp and have it comp in above the bore then feed in? It would be slower, because the bore is down .54" in the pocket.
Thanks!
