    1100 Base Diamentions

    Hello All,

I'm looking to build a stand for my tormach 1100 that is arriving next Friday, but i cant seen to find a drawing for the base!

I found a drawing for the 770, but is this the same as the 1100? (Click ME!) (PDF)

I've trolled the tormach pages but just cant seem to come across it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Tormach had drawings. PM me if you can't find them, I have a download. That said- DON'T do it. Look back through this forum (2007-2010 posts); you'll find that many who built a base recommend against it. I was one of the builders; scropped my base for Tormach's within 6 months.

Needs must I'm afraid. no funds left to pay though the ass for the base, and get it shipped to the uk.

Well here is what I have so far. Once all the sizes are proofed I will be getting welded up, up to now this has cost me 2 hours in time. that is all.

it will be getting bolted to the floor once its leveled out but I will still be able to adjust it to account for flex. but will still be adjustable

There will be a removable chip tray just under the base of the 1100, that will feed the coolant in to the storage tank that will be underneath that

please note this is not the final position of the upper beams. they were just place to show what its going to be like. as I still have to make some type of gusset set.

.. Material used 50x50 3mm wall sq tube, 2" 4mm wall tube, ex stock from years ago out to use.

My first stand was of similar design, it wobbled Like a jelly when the table was moved. You need more cross bracing and/or diagonals. Also I think some supported verticals close to or directly under the mill base corners will help.
