    fanuc 15m program overwrite parameter

I am running a fanuc 15m controller on a Toyoda FA550 machine. I am loading programs through the RS232 port using Gibbscam software. Each time I re-process a program in Gibbs, it assigns it the same program number, and unless I delete the program in the fanuc memory before I send the program I always get the alarm: already exists. On the other fanuc controllers that I run there is a parameter that can be set to automatically overwrite the program. I assume it is the same with this controller. Can anyone tell me what I need to reset to correct this?

Looks like parameter 2200 bit#1 (2nd bit from right) need to be set to 1. It will override the existing program with new one.

Is there a similar overwrite parameter for the 180i control? I am doing the exact same thing with our machine, and I have to delete all of the subprograms every time I send a new program to the control.

Re: fanuc 15m program overwrite parameter

OK, I'm going to revive an old thread here. I am having basically the same issue with a new machine that we have. Is there a parameter to adjust, or another way to overwrite a program number that is currently active from the data server? I have changed parameter 3201.2, but it still will not overwrite a program that is active. We are running a Fanuc MXP200-FB control on a YCM vertical mill, and transferring using Firezilla ftp software. Thanks in advance for your help again!

I think that model is an Oi control so 3201.2 should work for you. What program number are you trying to load? It may be that the program you are trying to load is protected…which will give you the same alarm.

    Parameter 3202.0 locks programs 8000-8999
    Parameter 3202.4 locks programs 9000-9999

There is also 2 parameters that can be set to lock a range of programs but I don’t have the Oi manual with me to verify what those numbers are. As an example one parameter would be set to say 100 and another set to say 150 and this would protect the programs from 100 thru 150.
