    Router dragging mid cut/movement

    Hi

I've installed mach3 CNC on my computer and for some reason mid movement of a g-code cut the motors lock and drag the cut instead of moving to the proper location. It has happened randomly in the past on my previous computer and it completely ruins the cut. I previously had mach3 CNC on my last computer which crashed using all of the same exact settings, because i saved all of my files to a cloud and hard drive including mach 3, yet now every cut drags on a random movement including "GO TO ZERO" which in turn loses the set zero.

Any ideas as to why my motors randomly stop and start to drag. All help and wisdom is appreciated as I've only been doing this for about 4 months.

FYI they are all connected correctly, clean, and unimpeded and move fine until they randomly stop.

    Parallel port or motion controller?

If it's the parallel port, run Drivertest.exe in the Mach3 folder and see if you get a smooth, flat line and steady pulse rate.

What kind of machine is this?
What are all the electronic components you're using?

There could be many different things that could cause this.
    Did it ever work properly?

The first thing I'd try is to reduce the acceleration and velocity in motor tuning by 50%

    Hey Gerry,

Thank you so much for the fast response but as to the answer to your questions...

It is a parallel port and when I ran the driver test i kept getting a message saying the "Pulsing too fast" (would this be an issue?)

This is a Mini-CNC 3040T-DJ and yes it worked properly on my last computer of which was the same model and exact same OS (windows7 pro 32bit) Its even the same folder of mach3 that was on that old computer just copied to this one.( like i shortly explained my last computer died because the fan was broken so it over heated and ruined some soldering)

Also i have already tried to change the motor tuning vel. and acc. to no avail.

If the driver test does not show a smooth, flat line with a steady pulse rate, then you will probably have problems.

Would there be a way of stabilizing the pulse speed on my end or is an issue with my hardware/software set up? Would maybe lowering the kernal speed from 35khz to 25khz help?
