I’m having a problem with my old FADAL. Just wanted to see if anyone has come across this problem before. The machine is a 1989 FADAL VMC 40. It has been running for the last Five years with no problems. Just the other day I went to run some parts on the machine . I started the mill and now the status becon stays on and the screen has a bunch of junk on it. I can’t get the mill to do anything. I changed out the CPU and video card with new ones that I had.( I still have the same results.) Also I checked the voltage +12,-12 & 5 volt. Everything checks out good. I'm stumped . Just hoping someone can help me with this problem are lead me in the right direction.
P.S. The mill sat up not in use for one week before this problem started.

Sounds like some of the memory connectors are corroded.

Try removing the cards from the back plane and cleaning with a pencil eraser. If there are any removable cards on the main cards, then remove and reinstall them several times to clean the connector pins. Also the same for the video board connectors.

OK, It looks like we found the problem. I removed all of the cards and then reinstalled them. No luck the machine still had the same problem. I then removed the extended memory card 1460-1 and started the machine. Now everything is working fine.
