    Optimizing WinXP for Mach3

Hello, all! I use WinXP for my running Mach3 on my milling machine. I have 20+ years of computer experience, and can do a lot with XP, but has anyone really gotten into the processes running under XP and "turned off" everything that is not needed to run it?

I'm familiar with editing the Registry and such, but shutting down un-needed processes that run in the background might help everything run as stable as possible.

    Thanks.

Win xp pro service pack 2 fresh install, disable automatic updates and windows fire wall and screen saver and using intel p4 cpu works well for me no issues, three years running two shifts mach 3 is the @#$%
