Looking for an adhesive to glue lead to aluminum

    Hi,

I am currently building a gamma-ray imaging system for my phd, and I have a little problem with one of the last steps: shielding the system.

To build the shielding, I am using aluminum plates to which I want to glue lead sheets. I am looking for a good glue to bond those lead sheets to the aluminum. Do you have any recommendation? I have been looking for some information online but could not find anything...
The sheets I am using are around 4 feet by 4 feet in size.

    Thank you for your help!

Where in the world are you going to get the isotope. Are you planning on using cobalt 60? Just a curious cnc'er. I work in gamma sterilization.

also contact Henkel / Loctite ... we use a Loctite product, call Black Max 380 to bond 6061 aluminum to 1018 steel

we also use Loctite 3060 to bond metal to magnets ...this or something similar from Loctite may work for your app

Thank you for the answers. I will give loctite a call, I am sure they have something good for this purpose... I don't know why I did not think about it.

@Tom-AMS : this to that is a nifty tool, thank you!
@bill south : I get isotopes from the university hospital next to my lab... fortunately the closest synchrotron to us is only 2hrs drive away...

    Thank you all!

E6000's really good for that, but it's expensive and difficult to spread on large areas.

I would just use a construction adhesive like DAP Weldwood. No problem sticking to metal. And it's a decent gap-filler.
