Hello, I'm new to this forum, but I would like to clear a bit my doubts and if somebody can enlighten me and suggest I would really appreciate it.
We have bought an old oxyfuel / plasma gantry cnc cutting table. It is a fairly big one, it have rails of about 10000mm and large about 5000mm. All is made of steel and the gantry is about 500kg in weight i estimate.
Just doing the retrofit, as the machine was without any cnc stuff on it. So no motors, no drivers no gearboxes. I have basically just steel structure and the 3 oxyfuel torch lifting devices which they seem in a good state and
with motors.
So now here goes my question. The rails are made of a square steel tube where there is a guide and a geared rail on it. I would like to understand which kind of gearbox or belt reduction should i use ?
The servos I plan to buy are from DMM Tech , the 11A-DST , 1kW servo motors with respective drivers. It was suggested to me by the DMM team. They said that probably I should use an 2:1 belt reduction.
So which belt reduction should I use, any suppliers anybody can suggest ?
Or should I go with the planetary gearbox mounted on the motor directly and then put on the gearbox a spur gear to fit into the geared rail ?
Or maybe some other kind of solution ?
I will step by step do the drawing on the whole machine in solidworks and if somebody will need it i can post it here.
Rgds
