    Need Help Limit and Home

I Am completely fresh on Cnc machines, And has purchased a machine MACH3

Hope there is someone who can help me. I stand completely stuck and bewildered

as it is not mounted Limit / Home switches on , I'll use switches optical

The machine has already mounted a contact limit on the back of box mounted with wires in blue red black green I read

user guide and there I see picture Con 5 con6 con7 can limit and nife ??

as long as the connection of IN ** and GD on it ?? This I do not understand

I will be using optical switches marked with VSG i supose its volt signal and ground ?? On the card it says vc in Gd How can i connect this opto in serial for limit and home ?

To connect up these switches on Limit and Home And Has no experience in electrical symbols signs of this maybe someone here can help an inexperienced possibly assist and tell me how I should connect to Using already assembled Contact ?? Or use open ports solder wires on con 5-6 and 7 When the optical switches need 5v ,

5 volts I get on vc on con 5 -6 and 7, but how to connect this ??
Since there is already a socket mounted ?? and the manual say some else i dont understand

I am willing and pay someone help with this

Re: Need Help Limit and Home

Please read Mach3 installation and config manual: Chapter 4.5 Limit and Home switches.

    http://www.machsupport.com/wp-conten...all_Config.pdf

This is what your red optical switch pin connections should be like block diagram. V, S, G.

    Attachment 264822

How To Set Up A Photo Interrupter (or Slotted Optical) Switch On The Arduino | Utopia Mechanicus

Please see your machine's instructions. The S = signal to con5,6 or 7 which correspond to the DB25 ( parallel port )

    According to table -
    con5 - 12- Z Home
    con6 -11 - Y Home
    con7 - 10 - X Home

    Edit: VC = 5volts, INxx = S, G= gnd

G= Gnd Check if you have 5volts Vcc on the blue board if not then you have to supply 5 volts from somewhere else.

The Limit 4 pin connector/cable at the back of box imply it's already supplied or comes with the machine?

PS since con 5,6,7 connectors are not populated or added it's your choice to add or solder direct but I recommend to add them.

Wow Meny thanks Then i have the last Question here The limit 4 pin already there so that mean i have to solder con, 5,6,7, to the already limit 4 pin I suppose that what you mean

so then i just have to add this to the pin 4 ??

The swiches connect as serial ? There are several differend vays to wire this up , My eny now can help me make a fast diagram so i now how to connect the limit and the home according to the blue board in first tread , I am sorry iam so confused , I get 4,99 v on vcc on the board . I have seen meny dravings around but i get confused becase i dont have eny skills on this . So i am Wery greatful for all help i can get to make this working

    VCC = 4.99V is good---------------------> VC?

Sorry I'm confused, are you sure there are no limit switches on your machine.Since there is a 4 pin connector wire to the board with blue, red, black, green wires to back of 4pin connector at the back of the box, there should be this cable that should be included with this machine that connects to the limit switches ?
Please read your machine's instructions to confirm it this is the case. Thank you.

If there is an Emergency stop button on the front of the box then there is no need to add it.
Does the machine manual tell or show how to connect the limit connector at the back of the box?
    Or the limit switches?

It seems like they do not know anything when I ask do not get any response, Dare not connect anything until I'm sure how this is connected. So is well within reason as far today Image is what I got but no answers to anything

Re: Need Help Limit and Home

There is no need to use con5,6,7 or even the 4 pin external limit connection for now.

I have read the user manual you posted in reply #7 and If you follow the instructions page by page you can get your cnc machine working. The controller box that comes with this machine was not meant for this cnc as there are no limit switches installed so the connector at the back of the box is useless unless you want to trace where all 4 pins go to your controller pcb and ultimately to the DB25 pin parallel connector. No such cable is supplied for the 4 pin external one.

Most machines are meant to use the soft limits of Mach3.Just follow the recommended settings especially the soft limits on page 39 of the user manual. Also take note of the machine home zero settings. After you have completed all the settings then go to the main Mach3 screen and click the reset button turning from red colour to green. Now you are set to run your machine either by running g code file or input manual g code or jogging the 3 axis to see it move. But before that after installation you should do the mach3 driver test on page 18.

    Good luck.

PS for more info read Mach3 install manual in post #2.

Some of the point was that there should be switches Home And limit that would seem, has measured lines on the finished connector mounted on boxen wires followed by contact COLOUR Blue Red Black Green.

I measure in from vc 5v at 10, 11, 12 For blue cable connector on card
    gives 4.99 v

I measure GD on the Card
    Red 10,11,12 GD 4,17v
    Black 10,11,12 GD 4,20v
    Green 10,11,12 GD 4,20v

I measure IN on the Card
    Red 10,11,12 0.00 v
    Black 10,11,12 0,00v
    green 10,11,12 0,00v

So then it means that I can use the connector on the rear of box already assembled.
Mounting Limit And Home switches connect and use connector on the rear of box

I HAVE THE RIGHT OR WRONG ++ ??

The user manual for this machine does not give any information about con5,6,7 or 4 pin Limit connector.
That means you either ask the seller for a schematic diagram or circuit or trace out where the respective
signal pins go on the pcb before you can use them to connect limit switches.

Take note con5,6,7 have total of 9 wires for X,Y,Z axis compared to 4 pin limit connector so how to use?

You can go to www.machsupport.com for links regarding your questions.

PS when you talk about home as well as limit switches pcb only provide 3 connections ( con5,6,7)
but there are ways to connect all of them and use only one pin or connector. See mach3 manual.
