Been lurking here for a while.
Decided to take the plunge and buy a new PCNC 770 from Tormach.
They have a warehouse here in Vegas so hopefully I can pick it up and save on shipping costs.
The machine will go in my 3 car garage.
I plan on designing and milling mostly motorcycle parts out of Aluminum.
If the parts are popular in the motorcycle forums, then I might do some very light production.
I have high hopes of milling watch cases and bracelets one day (possibly out of stainless).
I read and re-read and applied all suggestion in this thread: Buying a PCNC 1100 Series 3 - Suggestions on My List

Comments:
I'll be working on the Tool Holding and Tools lists next and will put them in a different post.
Questions:
- The Tormach video at the bottom of this post on the Haimer 3D Sensor shows calibration with another indicator.
Is another indicator really necessary?
If so, will this TTS Touch Tool Indicator (31283) work when mounted in the rotary table or is there a better / cheaper solution?- Is the Pro Ring Light (32700) listed above highly recommended?
- I'm thinking that SprutCAM is the best option to maximize tech support efficacy from Tormach.
Do you agree?
Or is there a cheaper CAM solution?- Should I spring for a Glacern CNC 6" vise instead or is it overkill for my application?
- I'll be milling parts for metric motorcycles mostly.
For this reason and for base-10 math reasons, metric tooling has been highly recommended.
Do you agree?- Should I get imperial tool holders and metric cutters with imperial shanks? Or keep it all metric?
- Suggestions for metric cutter sources?
(I've found endmill.com and mscdirect.com have metric end mills with metric shanks and a corner radius.)
