How to secure pin end of xlr connector

    Hi
I have my connector soldered and was ready to insert the pin end into the housing.
Then I thought what keeps the pin end from being inadvertently pulled apart when
the connector needs to be removed for its mating connector.
I see a screw that secures the ground loop. Attempts to remove this and use it to
secure the pin end seems impossible. The screw is so tight the screwdriver is disfiguring
the slot. Am I missing something here!

    Hi

your XLR plug is an interesting version (the fixing screw works back to front as it were )

once you have soldered the cable to the terminals the retaining screw needs to be screwed in as in your photo

then when you insert the 4 pin assembly it should stop with the screw head visible through the hole in the body
then you unscrew the screw to fix it in place !

the screw looks like it has a small round head (that fits the hole in the body) with an integral washer ( that pushers against the inside of the body )

    PS
the original Cannon plug fixing screw was screwed through the from the outside as you would expect

this neutrix version the plug (or socket) assembly is pushed in from the back and is held in by a plastic collet assembly that screws onto the back of the metal body

    Hi
Thanks for the info. Placed the pin end in a vise. And ground a screwdriver tip to fit the slot.
Finally loosened the screw. They were over torqued from the factory.
