    SprutCam7 on Win7 x64 bit

    Hi,

Has anyone here ran SprutCam7 on a Win7 x64 bit system??? I finally bought a new computer but have not been able to get the dongle to activate the SprutCam license. SC remains in the trial mode. Any suggestions on what to try would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Robert

    I do.
Been a while but IIRC you need to install the original SC program from the disk (part #31729 and #31730. There is a trial version disk that is another part number) you got from Tormach (if that is the way you obtained SC 7) , seems like that installed the licence dongle then install any later versions of SC 7 on top of that.

    Hi Gerry,

I just gave the original CD and version a try but no go..... It appears that the dongle driver is only for a 32 bit operating system. It looks like a company called Safenet is where a search for the Aladdin HASP4 dongle key gets one directed. I am downloading their drive and will see if that works.

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Re: SprutCam7 on Win7 x64 bit

    Robert,
I have a 64 bit Toshiba laptop with win 7 on it and Sprut 7 runs fine on it. I did install off the disc I got from Tormach, I installed it on my other laptop as well and both run fine.

Edit: The laptops are 4 years old, maybe that makes a difference??

    Re: SprutCam7 on Win7 x64 bit

As you have already realized you'll need a 64 bit driver. For anyone else who might encounter this problem I downloaded the latest windows driver from here:
    Sentinel Downloads
using the "Sentinel HASP/LDK - Windows GUI Run-time Installer"
As Gerry wrote, I also found that I needed to install Sprut 7 first from the CD to ensure that Sprut uses the dongle, then install the HASP driver, and finally update to the latest Sprut version.
    Good luck

    Re: SprutCam7 on Win7 x64 bit

    Thanks Guys,

I have SC now working on Win7 x64..........

    Here is what I did:
    1) Removed all prior version of the Hasp drivers and SprutCam using the Add/Remove Program utility in windows.
    2) Install the Safenet - Sentinel HASP/LDK - Windows runtime.
    3) Insert the dongle into a USB port and verify it appears in the Device Manager under the USB controller section.
    4) Install the latest version of SprutCam.

    Thanks,
    Robert
