Hi
Im trying to make a RS-232 cable between my control and PC and i'm very confused to say the least! I've been researching this for a few days and the more i look into it the more confused i become. The machine is a Bridgeport VMC 760 with Heidenhain TNC370 control.
The manual has a pin and connecting cable diagram see the attachment. But when comparing this with other RS-232 connections they don't seem to match up.
What i understand the left side of the diagram should be a 25 pin RS-232 connector on the computer and the right side should also be a 25 pin connector on the CNC Control even though it only lists 9 Pins. And then there is the note bellow the diagram saying "The connector pin layout on the TNC logic unit (x21) is different from that on the adapter block" What does this actually mean? That the pins on the diagram is not actually referring to a normal DB25 232 connector, because that would make a lot more sense if that would be the case. For eg. the GND that should be on pin 7 on DB25 or pin 5 on 9DB is said to be pin 5 on the diagram???
Im so confused.
