    Need some advice

    Hello

I plan to make my own cnc machine (2300*1600 mm) mainly for wood and maybe some alu. It will be rack and pinion driven (x,y) becouse speed is priority z axis ballscrew. Im not so good with electricity so i need some comments/advice on my stepper&power&drive decisions.I plan to buy following:
power supply y,x axis: PS408-5 Linear power supply
power supply z axis :SPS705 Unregulated switching power supply.

stepper x,y axis: SY85STH118-6004B Nema 34 High Torque hybrid stepper motor
stpper z axis: SY85STH80-5504B Nema 34 Stepper motor

for stepper drives i dont know yet G210X or G203V (is microstepping realy that important??? which one is better??)

    Is this the best choice????

Thanks for help and sory for bad english

I've never heard of using separate power supplies for the Z and X/Y axes; why do you want to do that? As for the choice of drives, ask the folks at Geckodrives which one they'd recommend for those motors. Microstepping is good for reducing harmonic resonance that can otherwise impede the performance of stepper motors, making them run smoother; it doesn't increase accuracy, though.

Its becouse i have 4 motors and the PS806-12 Linear power has three main outputs at 68V maybe im wrong as i said im not good with electronic. Better to use one KL-6020 power supply?

All Gecko drives have 1/10 microstepping. The difference with the G210 is it has a step multiplier so you can send fewer steps, if the PC can send them fast enough at 1/10.
