Hi! I didn't find information in the Internet if it is possible to directly connect Dos based Ultimax 3 with the rj45 cable to a pc? I've got a terminal for it on the back of the machine, but it's not connected to the circuit board. I have many big programs that I need to run on it, but they won't go through the floppy, and it will take too long to send them through com-port.

You need the ultinet option to use the FTP.
i think now that involves a CPU upgrade because the ISA ethernet cards are not available any more.

Can you tell me how I can make this upgrade? I've already thought about that, but two monitors and touchscreen make me some sort nervous :-)

You have to buy the kit from hurco. To get the option. and the Ethernet card.
What machine do you have and what year?
What software version is on it?
Some times you are money ahead to just do a winmax upgrade.

One more thing: do I need to search for the ethernet card on the motherboard inside the cnc on the back of the monitors? Am I right?

I should have thought about that. MAX3 cannot be upgraded to winmax.
Look for Ethernet card on the mother board.

You need to have 3COM ethernet card. Not a card built in the CPU board. Ultinet is an option available for 2.XX software...

Only 3COM? I've found D-link 220P absolutely new. It's found by PnP system of the motherboard. But if I'm right, now I need a software upgrade to get the ability to use in in Ultimax?

My software version is 2.15. 1999 year of update.

Ultinet for Ultimax is a hardware (card) and software. Your security device (dongle connected to parallel port) has to be programmed to unlock this option.
To check activated software options go to:
Auxiliary -> System Configuration -> Software Specification (way can be little bit different).
You have to see Ultinet. When this option is active you can go into network setup screen.
I only saw 3COM cards on Ultimax.
