    Mach 3 and Windows XP

    Does Mach 3 have problems running on Windows XP? I have to buy a new computer to run this program and it will come with XP. Any comments welcome. Anyone have suggestions on minimum computer requirements to run Mach 3?

    It ONLY runs on XP and Windows 2000. XP Home or Pro doesn't matter. Minimum recommended is about 1Ghz. I'd recommend at least a 2Ghz. Also, get 1Gig of RAM.

    A lot of people on the mach support groups have had good luck with the cheap Dell's. Make sure whatever you buy has a parallel port.

    Hey Gerry (and gang);
    At this poing in time I'm only running with 500 meg of ram with a 2.5 gig processor. Is the extra 500 worthwhile????
    I've thought of upgrading (not to expensive) but was wondering if it made any difference in a benchtop cnc mill ap.
    Thx!

    If you run large g-code programs it might help. If you don't have any problems, it probably won't make a difference.

    You'll have to try it and see. You can install both Mach2 and Mach3 on the same PC and try both. Just don't try and run them at the same time. Download them both and see how they work for you.

    I currently run mach2 on 650mhz laptop decently, previously on a 700 and 900mhz celeron decently, the 900mhz celeron went up to 45000khz on mach2 but couldnt do it on mach3.
