We are running Surfcam 2014 R2 and when we save a medium to large file to a network shared drive Surfcam will lockup, kill networking, and we have to kill the power cord to reset the computer.
Here are the steps we have taken so far:
-The computer running Surfcam 2014 R2 is a 64bit Windows 7 Pro machine with 8 GB of ram and is current on all drivers, security updates and hot fixes
-The computer with the shared drive is also a 64bit Windows 7 Pro machine with 16 GB of ram and is current on all drivers, security updates and hot fixes
-Other users can read, write, and save to this shared drive without issue
-The computer running Surfcam can read, write, and save to the shared drive in any other application (Word, Excel, Draftsight, etc..)
-We uninstalled and reinstalled Surfcam 2014 R2 (we also removed the folders left behind so we were doing a fresh clean reinstall)
-We called Microsoft paid support about the issue thinking it might be a network problem. They could not find anything wrong and suggested it was an issue with Surfcam 2014 R2. They wouldn't even charge us because they could find absolutely no issue with the computer running Surfcam, our network, or the computer with the shared drive.
You might be thinking "Why haven't we called our rep or Surfware?" Frankly, our experience with both have been terrible. I am trying to avoid this by trying other paths first.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks!
