Should my tube be doing this?

Had a look at my tube today, doesn't look right to me. When starting the beam seems to have sharp outline but within a less than a second it changes to something that looks fuzzy/out of focus. Also when running continuously it seems to be breaking down. Have a look at the video and see what you think?

Re: Should my tube be doing this?

I was *just* having that exact same issue with my tube this week, right down to making that lovely squealing/sizzling noise when the beam changed inside the tube. We checked everything possible including rewiring all the grounds and putting in our spare power supply in case that was the issue. In the end, we swapped the tube out for a spare and it stopped, so I'm assuming that particular tube has problems. I know that's probably not what you were hoping to hear.

Here's a video of what mine was doing- the beam would change like that while cutting, and whenever it did, cut power dropped dramatically to the point where it wouldn't cut through the material.

Out of curiosity, where did you get your tube, and what size? Mine is a 40W.
