Cam software to purchase please help

    Hi guys,

So i have completed my mach 3 retrofit on my multicam 44 plus router and everything is working great. Now the problem is deciding what cam program to use. I use Adobe Illustrator and Flexi to create my files. I have download many demos and haven't been able to get any of them to successfully create a g-code that would work in mach 3.

My budget is only around $300 for a software. My shop uses enroute and i absolutely love this software, I've tried to check and it seemed that program was quite expensive.

Please help me decide, I'm sure you guys have so much more experience with this and could really help.

    Thanks again,

    Cody

What programs have you been trying? You should be able to get just about any CAM program to work with Mach3, and most hobby level ones (within your budget) should work right out of the box.

What type of work do you want to do with the machine?

Hi, I am primary just cutting acrylic, thin aluminum and Signabond for electrical sign faces. Really basic stuff, I haven't purchased a program I've only downloaded demos that I couldn't to to work. For the type of work im doing do you recommend one?

    Thanks

Ok great I'll take your advice and go with those. Out of sheet am or vectric's cut 2d is there one that you think is a better product?

Also are you familiar with the pricing for either one?

    Thanks so much,

    Cody

Cut 2d is $150 and has great support you can download a working trial version to see if it will work on your machine. Also go to the Vectric forum and read some they also have training videos

Sheetcam is probably the more powerful of the two, but has a steeper learning curve. I'd try the demo's of each before buying.
