Hi All,

I am a newbie with mastercam x. I created a part in Solidworks. When I opened the part in MC the part was not oriented in the same axis orientation as it was in SW. I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out the wcs system to orient it correctly. How can I get the orientation to match with SW? Do I have to manually change it every time and how do I do that?

Are you actually using Mastercam X for a newer version. if it is actually are using Mastercam X there is no Dynamic Planes or Dynamic WCS being the one would being the right one to use. bu,t so you know that solid works top is Mastercams Front so if you go to Planes Manger and set it to Front it will set the part just the same as SW.
PS use this older video from X2 to use the WCS in the older version. If you are using a newer version of X4 or higher you can go back to the same Youtube site to see newer options.
