Hoping you guys can give me the procedure for restarting mid-program, eg. on a threading tool.
Use to do it years ago on an LB25, but forgotten!
Thanks in advance

Auto mode;
press restart function key (F5 maybe?)
type N(line number) OR sequence number (no N, not the same as a line number)
press write
(program reads through to line or sequence number)
press the "Sequence restart" button
(machine will move to last known location so be prepared for machine to move at this point)
once Run and STM turn off, press cycle start
note to restart in the middle of a cycle or thread you will need to know the sequence number. when you stop it you need to look at the top right corner of the screen just before you stop it and take a note of the number then you can restart in the middle of somewhere. otherwise you can only start from a line number. its probably better to start from the beginning of a tool rather than in the middle of a cut anyway.
Always a good idea to turn single block on and feedrate down when restarting. Also watch your "distance to go" as you come in.
Best regards,
sometimes even that doesn't help. one of the morons at my company re-started our Macturn with the lower turret at the far left position. the turret tried to go at 45 degrees to the end position but unfortunately for him the chuck was in the way. Now he understands that 2 solid objects cant occupy the same physical space ;-)
so also, always make sure the turret/chuck/part are away from anything when restarting because the turret will rotate instantly when sequence restart is pressed.
Thanks very much for your help guys
Good point Fordav11!
