    Problems with NC communication

I tried to upload a program to my Hurco Md3 ultimax II tonight and had zero luck.

I had everything working 2 weeks ago. I used sheetcam to cam the autocad drawing.

    This was a smile job, a 12 x 12 "G".

I tried every combination of settings. 7,1 even and 9600 is what I think I had originally

I also checked the com setting on the PC, and sheetcam .

    So any idea?

How can I tell if the cable is good? How about the PC com 1 port?

    Thanks

    Steve

    Underdog-

Still not working. The good thing is most of my stuff can be done by conversational programming. I do need to get it fixed. Just not sure where to start

Try sending from control to PC, its less finicky that way and you will see stuff coming sooner than the other way (less parameters to match). I'll try and check my parameters and get back to you. 7,1 even sounds right.

Start, Control panel and System get you to devices and yes the com port must be set to the same settings. Of the three, control, cable and pc, do you have any idea which might have changed? Lightning storm? Moved stuff past the machine thus loosening the cable? Ran the exec tape on the control? This could narrow it down.

    Underdog-

About 4-5 months ago I had to have the service tech out. The controller was freezing for no reason. So he swapped several boards, and he replaced the memory batteries. The batteries help the most. If it did freeze, we could power down the machine, and not loose all the information and programs.

I forgot what else he changed, but the everything was better.

I was able to use sheetcam and connect to the mill before the problems. The problem is I don't use Sheetcam that often, so I am not sure when it stopped working.

I will try to sent the controller information to the pc today.

    Thanks steve
