Filler is the vent cap. The drain is a plug on the underside of the head.
A lighter oil is fine too for less heat.
youtube videos of the G0704 under the name arizonavideo99
As Arizonavideo mentioned, the head is filled through the breather cap and the drain is inside the cavity under the head. The head will take about 3.75 quarts of oil (to center of sight glass). We recommend 30 weight non-detergent oil along with 8 oz. of standard Lucas oil additive. Add the Lucas first to avoid overfilling the head.
Great and the drain bolt is underneath the head it looks like a 1/2-13 bolt ? Or at least on mine that's the only bolt I see
It will definitely be metric. The factory has changed them slightly over the years. Currently they are 12mm x 1 thread with an O-ring and 10mm Allen head.
ok I will look when I get off of work and go from there. Thanks for you help
Take the cover off and dump the gears out along with the oil, Switch to belt drive. You will never regret it.
well Arizonavideo was making belt drives i think. i have drawings that i used to convert my MD001 which i believe is very similar. You would need a lathe and mill to make the parts. Mine uses a keyway machined in the spindle shaft.
Its not really a cheap upgrade to get the full potential you would need a 3 phase motor and VFD
Well no have the 3 phase 3 hp motor already on this mill. I will look more into this.
