    Lately I have been using a Makita impact. I barely need to hold the spindle. I used to use Hoss MAD system but have a belt drive and will have to devise a little bit different bracket.
    A lazy man does it twice.

    great idea, cheap and if it works well I may just put off the power drawbar for a while

    what do you use for a socket? I don't think I've ever seen a square socket driver

    They are called 4 or 8 point sockets.

    I am using a standard 3/8" 6 point socket. It takes a little persuading back off in the beginning. A small crescent wrench wedged between the socket and the base of the drawbar allow prying ;-)
    A lazy man does it twice.

    I couldn't find a 4 or 8 point socket anywhere locally but a 9mm spline socket works great

    I have a universal Craftsman socket set. It works great for me. I'd much rather prefer a hex head though!

    Nice! When I get my mill this is one of the first "improvements" I will make. You can never have enough Y travel on these small mills!
