    Re: Solidworks offer

Too bad they don't offer this to current military personnel, I'd have my son buy it.

    Re: Solidworks offer

I know this is an old thread but I have a question.
I have a copy of the SW Veterans Student version coming. On the website it states a DVD drive is required. Does this mean the SW disk has to be in the DVD drive to be able to run the software or just to download the program from the SW DVD to your computer?

DVD is only required for installation. Once installed, you can throw it away.

SW will require an internet connection to register, and any significant change to the computer it is installed on will possible end up forcing you to re-register the copy (I suspect that is their means of enforcing your use of it on one computer only at a time).

Thanks for your most speedy response

The reason I asked is that the laptop I wanted to use doesn't have an internal DVD drive. I use a USB drive to load but then disconnect it when not in use.

    Again thanks
