Hey all,

We are a new company looking to purchase a new laser engraving machine, but would like some guidance in the right direction.

We currently use a local company to engrave our parts, but are looking to do them in house.

We engrave Stainless Steel, Copper, Brass, and Aluminum. The engravings are pretty shallow, but are looking to make them slightly deeper on the softer metals as to make the more permanent and appealing.

I have linked a picture of what the engraving currently looks like.

So I have heard that a fiber laser engraver is the way to go, but it can be done via CO2 using chemicals. Can anyone give me some guidance as of the best way to do this? The buttons are 3/4" in diameter. Money is not a huge issue, but would like to keep it cheap, as we are a new company. What are my options?

Cermark is a mfg of chemical for engraving with co2, it works well. But this only imprints the image, like black ink. If you are looking for a little depth then a tag laser is more appropriate. It requires no chemical and engraves in the metal. It is more expensive though. Check out epilog tag for a detailed comparison.

a fiber laser marking machine can marking on metal materials very well.

YAG laser marking, is the old marking way. Now have intead by the Fiber laser marking machine .

Fiber laser source lifetime is about over 10 years. with high speed and permanent mark.
