I'm not a machine operator, but a designer who often sends dfx files to a plasma or laser cutter for light structural steel fabrication. My parts are typically assemblies of 1/4" to 1/2" steel that are used as custom timberframe connectors. They are almost always hidden inside the timbers when the project is erected.
I'd like a simple font that can be cut into the piece to help identify it easily since often pieces are very similar but not geometrically the same. A typical piece ID might be A-8 or something like that. I'd imagine that the best font would be simple linework similar to stencil so that pieces of the "A" or "8" don't fall out.
Ideally it would be truetype or shx so I can use it in my autocad drawings.
Does anyone use something like this or have a recommendation?
Thanks.
