    Re: Bearing shaft

    You want 1 or 100?
only hard thing on that is the threw hole.
gun-drill it ream it then turn between centers to make it concentric
    and cut the keys.
probably cost you around $100 at your local shop.
no I don't want to make
but that's how you would do it

    Re: Bearing shaft

Does this part get welded at all? If not, recommend 303SS instead of 304SS.

Does the through-hole need +/-.005" all the way through? That single feature will cost more than all the rest of the work.

    Regards.

He says 303 stainless in his post, which is what I would go with, but in his drawing he says 304 with a question mark. So I think he figured out 303 bearing shaft is what he wants.

Yeah, I changed it to 303SS in my post, please disregard what the print says there. My private message settings are ok to receive from everyone, did you have an issue with it? I suppose the .800 through could be +/- .010 and still be fine. I have the option of making that dimension .750 +.010 / -.000 if that's easier?

Edit: Forgot to say I only need one.

For email you could try" nyboltfan AT Yahoo dot com

    Thanks guys.

    Re: Bearing shaft

It's the depth that makes it hard, drill bits wander,
    .750 +.010/-0.000 is much easier.
once you have it drilled it's maybe 1/2 hour on the lathe and about the same on the mill to cut the keys

    .755 +/- .005 is easier than .800 +/- .010 ?
