Recently, ive gotten into buying carbide from surplus sites and online auctions. I have the old "buy cheap, sell high" setup going. Trying to make some extra cash for my race car. There were a few adds on that one website for the Scrap metal recycle network buying at $11.25 a pound, but not sure if I trust sending 100+lbs of carbide 1,000miles north. Anyone sell to Kennametal or other big companies? Locally, I can get $8/lb, and if I get up to 500lbs, i can get $10.50. Have a 5gallon bucket about half full soo far. Not all of the carbide is cutting tools, some of it is from Sandvik Hard Metals Corp. and are cemented carbide rings that weigh about 20lbs.
