I have a pretty narrow set of requirements. I'll be exclusively cutting and engraving 3mm acrylic and the engraving will be text only, always in languages that use the roman alphabet. The absolute maximum part size I'll need to cut will be 22.5"x11.5".

Latest LY 6040 CO2 Laser Engraving & cutting machine,50W,220V/110V,Super quality with all functions.laser CNC router-in Laser Equipment from Industry & Business on Aliexpress.com

That's the machine I'm looking at. I realize it's a highly unadorned model, but I don't need pass-through doors, any rotary capabilities, and the 600mmx400mm bed size is more than sufficient for my purposes. From what I've read, I think a Chinese 50w laser will be enough for 3mm acrylic vector cutting (although correct me if I'm wrong, please - for $600 more that machine can be upgraded to 60w) At a hair shy of $2100 shipped to a US residential address, I can buy/build a 3/4hp water chiller, 4+ cfm air compressor, set of US lenses and mirrors, 240 cfm exhaust and air purification system, Windows XP computer system (I wish now I'd kept my old one), and a compatible copy of CorelDraw all for $3575 delivered directly to my door ready to install when everything is said and done - no importation and customs to deal with.

I've looked and looked for reviews of LY Group machines, but can't find any. Does anybody know if their 6040 model is high enough quality to do what I need it to do without constantly breaking down, while having consistent enough quality so as to not waste a tremendous number of acrylic sheets?

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.
