    Servo sizing

I am finally going to change my Bridgeport series II from steppers to servos and I have no idea how to size the new motors.

The machine currently has some good size nema 42 steppers that I cannot identify. The X & Y currently have 2:1 reduction, the Z has 4:1. The Z on this machine is the knee. It has an air assist but is still moving a lot of metal.

If I can get rapids in the 120-150 ipm range I will be more than happy. I was thinking 750 W motors for X&Y @ 4:1 and 1000W @ 5:1 for Z. Is this workable ?
    Thanks
    Marc

The X & Y you can stay at the 2:1 with the 750W motors, the Knee I'm not a fan of using the Knee as a Z axes, it was not designed to work like this, it causes a lot of ware on the column when used like this

Was your mill a retro fit by someone, as all the CNC series II machines had a Z axes using a ballscrew in the Head of the machine, Dmm has good servos /drives that would suit your machine
