I am brand new at this... In fact, I just ran my first bit of g-code about 20 minutes ago. I didn't break a bit, just burned up some wood! lol
Here is what I am doing: I am trying to make some toe clamps out of birch plywood. The design is rather simple, and to get it setup and clamped, I wanted to drill two 1/4" holes down through the work piece, and into the spoil board for index pins. I am using a 1/4" 2 flute drill mill that I have to make the holes.
Here is the spec of the peck drill action:
spindle @ 6000 RPM (which is my minimum)
75 IPM plunge feedrate
.0625" pecking depth
.005 chip break distance
No dwell
Here is what happened.
Smoke, and lots of it!
Any help would be appreciated.
