    Importing Sample 3D Rhino File

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to practice creating 3D objects on my little CNC. So I downloaded the sample file this guy made:
    http://www.cnczone.com/forums/teache...-practice.html

I have Rhino on my main comp and LinuxCNC on my CNC computer and transferring files between the two isn't problematic.

So here comes a really noob question, how do do that 3D file on LinuxCNC?

Thanks for putting up with me!

It sounds like you're missing a step. You can't machine a Rhino 3DM file directly; you need to run it through a CAM program first (the guy you're linking to above used VisualMill). That takes your tool, machine, and other things into consideration and generates a toolpath, which is then expressed in G-code customized for your CNC system. That file (it's essentially a text file) can be interpreted by LinuxCNC, which translates it into pulses that make the motors move.
