    Okuma 5020L can send via rs232 but not recieve

    Hello,
    in the past we were using our okuma 5020L with the software CNC-first. It works well, but the computer has given up (win98) and we do not even longer have a license.

    you need to be more specific describing the trouble. If you search through this forum, you can note that RS232 connectivity involves a lot of factors, so
    send files from my okuma works well, but I cannot recieve anything
    it's not enough to comment

    3 wire cable, handshake jumpered, CademLite for free Pgm.

    I would recommend at least 5 wire cable for start.

    No need for a 5 wire on a 5020. New computer is probably srtipping a character out at the header.
