Hey guys, I am building my first CNC router in my garage and purchased a Chanzhou HuaJiang Electric 3KW Air-cooled spindle.

I set out to buy a VFD for this spindle and am having some trouble. My garage has 220V single phase but it seems that the VFD's at that level require 3 Phase. Is there a single Phase 220 VFD that would be compatible with this spindle? Should I sell this spindle and switch to a 2.2 KW setup instead?

I'm really new to this so any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

That is around 4HP so you should be able to find a 240v 1ph in VFD.
Look at the Hitachi range, fairly good quality price and support.

Hitachi seems to goto 3 Phase above 3HP. The only one I can find that goes higher at 1 phase is this one but I can't see the brand.

That looks like the Huanyang, generally considered the bottom of the pile, if you want to take a chance, the cost is not that great, usually.
But poor documentation and support.
