We’ve been receiving questions of all kinds from customers about which bits to use on for their projects. Here at CNC Router Store, we provide expert advice on which tools would be best for your routing projects.
This week, we had a customer cutting many different kinds of materials such as Dibond (an aluminum composite material, typically in a flat panel form), wood, plexiglass and 1-1/8th inch aluminum.
They needed a 1/4” cutting diameter, 7/8” flute length, and an overall bit length of 2-1/2”. Based on his requirements, we recommended the Onsrud 65-000 series, specifically bit number 65-025. This bit is a more of a “universal” tool, and can be used to cut a large number of different materials and is balanced by design to run at spindle speeds up to 60,000 RPM.
