1995 4020HT. Just filled the spindle refrigerant tank with 50/50 distilled water / Dowfrost. Next day its almost empty. I can't seem to see where its leaking - no puddles or evidence of a leak anywhere.

Is there a common place to look??

Add some dark food coloring dye and go 75/25 water/dowfrost. Check to see if your coolant shows signs of the dye. If it is not on the floor it must be ending up in the coolant. Check the cool thru hoses and fittings, and around the spindle base and fittings.

If your machine has Dowfrost through the Ball Screws it may be leaking at the bearing blocks. Three seals around the screw in the back of the bearing block is were the coolant enters and exits the screw. If you find the leak just unhook the quick connect tubes and join them together with a union so you don't starve the rest of the system.

If you find the leak is coming from one of the bearing blocks, you may want to look close and see if the grease has been washed out of the bearings, if you catch it soon enough it may be worth re-greasing the bearings. I'm personally a big fan of looping out the bearings blocks as Acrodoc suggested, I've replaced a lot of bearings way too early because of failed seals like this.
