I haven't had any luck in my search for a hi speed spindle drive pulley, (48 tooth, 7500 rpm) for my hi torque machine, (56 tooth, 6000 rpm) so I'm thinking of making one, or modifying the existing pulley. The machine is a 1996 Torq Cut 22, using a gates powergrip GT style 8mm pitch belt. I'm pulling the spindle for a rebuild anyway, and I could really use higher speed, so now is the time. It's converted to a Centroid control with a hiedenhain spindle encoder, but I don't think there is any difference in encoder drive between the speed versions. Any tips on where to find cutters to make such a timing pulley tooth profile? Spindle removal suggestions would be appreciated too!
